What is the DAX Index?
The DAX Index, established in Frankfurt in 1988, is Germany’s leading stock market index, comprising the 30 largest German companies listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. It is also Europe’s second-largest stock exchange index.
Some of the major companies included in the DAX are Allianz, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Lufthansa, Siemens, and Volkswagen.
As a key indicator of the German economy, the DAX Index is closely followed by market professionals and investors.
All DAX-listed stock prices are denominated in euros (EUR).
How to Trade the DAX Index with QNB Invest

Example of a DAX Transaction
For example, let’s assume you expect the DAX Index to rise and you buy 1 lot of DAX (GER30) at a price of 10,850, opening a long position.
Each DAX (GER30) contract has a multiplier of 10, which means:
10,850 × 10 = 108,500 EUR, or 108,500 × 1.1450 = 124,232 USD in position size.
If you open this position with 1:10 leverage, your required margin would be 12,423 USD.
If the price increases to 10,950, your profit would be:
(10,950 - 10,850) × 10 = 1,000 EUR,
which equals 1,145 USD when converted using the EUR/USD rate of 1.1450.
